Best Of The NBRHD: Date Night Delivery

Where to order for a romantic night in

September 09, 2021 Amber Love Bond

In a city with so many dining options, it’s tough to narrow it down when trying to plan out the perfect date night. While there are plenty of trendy, fun, and flashy spots to dine out, sometimes you just want to keep it casual and order delivery. Just because you’re eating at home doesn’t mean you’ve got to skimp on quality, and fortunately, there are a ton of local spots serving up delicious eats that taste just as good at home as they do at the restaurant.

For those who are looking for something a little more lowkey or just want to stay in, here are six spots that will make the date great if you’re ordering in.

Boy Choy

Chinese food is always a classic when you’re staying in for the night, but Boy Choy takes it up a notch serving elevated versions of your favorite Chinese takeout dishes. Here, the menu includes an array of dim sums, soft and pillowy bao buns stuffed with roasted duck, soft shell crab, and spicy pork, baby bok choy with crispy pork, and generously-portioned main courses like char sui pork ribs, black bean chicken, and Thai black pepper beef.

Lucali

New York-style pizza is all the rage at Lucali. Pair a large signature pie with an order of pepperoni chips and a massive meatball and you’re doing date night right. The pizzas, calzones, and massive chicken parm are all made in a brick oven, while the salads are filled with tons of fresh toppings.

Krispy Rice

There’s something super sexy about a platter of sushi, especially when it’s by the team behind sbe’s Katsuya. Krispy Rice is a delivery-only concept featuring sushi, sashimi, and of course its namesake — Krispy rice — in several delicious variations. Available a la carte or in convenient bento-style boxes, like the Krispy Heaven featuring an assortment of Krispy rice, spicy tuna hand rolls, baked crab hand rolls, nigiri, and fried shrimp; or the Two of a Kind box with a selection of sushi, hand rolls, nigiri, Krispy rice, and edamame. This delivery option is perfect for a romantic night in.

Alla Vodka

Nothing screams comfort food like mom’s vodka sauce. Just like the name implies, this is the place to order from if you’re looking for saucy comfort food dishes for your date night. Popular options include cacio e pepe garlic bread, eggplant parm alla vodka, and of course, penne alla vodka. For dessert make sure to order the cannoli three ways for extra brownie points with your honey.

Mandolin

Sometimes simplicity is the best answer, and no one does Mediterranean simplicity quite like Upper Buena Vista’s Mandolin. A Miami favorite for nearly a decade, this spot serves up a long list of meze appetizers including grilled halloumi, roasted cauliflower, and crispy calamari. You can’t go wrong with the Greek dip sampler featuring tzatziki olive, and tirokafteri served with pita or vegetables followed by the whole Mediterranean sea bass grilled with extra-virgin Aegean olive oil, lemon, and oregano.

Hometown BBQ

Meat lovers looking for date night delivery should consider Allapattah’s Hometown BBQ to be a no-brainer. With meat selections smoked and sold by the half-pound, your options include brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. Don’t sleep on the smoked turkey BLT which is perhaps one of the most underrated items on the menu and is definitely shareable among two people who are looking for a variety of BBQ flavors to enjoy. Load up on sides like the queso mac n’ cheese and pit beans or go full #TacoTuesday with brisket or chicken tacos. Whatever you decide, it’s bound to be a delicious evening.
